This
time I would like to write about one of my favourite Fashion House which is run
by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig - Marchesa. This label is known especially
from beautiful wedding dresses and gowns, but not also. This time they
presented in New York a show with shirt dresses, shorter or even trousers, but
for me the real art is their long, beautiful and sophisticated gowns.
Such collection is said to be Ready To Wear, but
such collection should suit for street, work, etc. But this collection is not.
Marchesa dresses are too high fashion and cannot be worn everyday, they can be
used only for special occasions, unless you are a princess and you can wear
what you want :)
The inspiration for this collection was the famous
17th century painting of Francisco de Goya "Portrait of Maria Teresa de
Vallabriga on Horseback". The reflection of corsetry with softer elements
(like pants) shows the spirit of that painting.
My favourite dresses are the first and the second
one. The black with the gold thread and embroidery is just enormous! It reminds
me about the latest Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2012-13 collection which
was full with black and gold elements. The second dress is compleately
different from the previous one. A long white with flowers and sewed
one-shouldered. It is very delicate at suits the natural blond.
What I can say more... Just admire the collection
;) !
